Spectre VPN Support
Get started with your own server, import subscriptions, and troubleshoot VPN connections on iPhone and iPad.
Before you connect
Spectre VPN is a VPN and proxy client. It does not include servers or sell VPN service subscriptions. You need a compatible server configuration or subscription URL from your server administrator or provider.
Set up your first connection
- Download Spectre VPN from the App Store.
- Add your server by importing a supported link, scanning its QR code, or entering its connection details. You can also import a subscription URL to manage multiple servers.
- Select a server and choose Global or Rule routing for your setup.
- Turn on the connection. Allow iOS to add the VPN configuration when prompted.
Which protocols are supported?
Spectre VPN supports Shadowsocks, Trojan, VMess, VLESS, Hysteria2, TUIC, SOCKS, and HTTP. Advanced users can import a complete custom sing-box JSON configuration.
My VPN will not connect
- Check that your device has a working internet connection.
- Verify the server address, port, protocol, and authentication details with your provider.
- Refresh your subscription if the server details have changed or access has expired.
- Try another server or network to narrow down the problem.
- Update to the latest App Store version. See What's New for connection fixes.
What is the difference between Global and Rule mode?
Global mode uses proxy routing for your connection. Rule mode lets routing rules decide which traffic connects directly and which goes through your proxy. Your server configuration and rules determine the actual routing behavior.
How do subscriptions work?
A subscription URL imports a server list into the app. It is supplied by your provider; downloading Spectre VPN does not create or purchase a server subscription.
Widgets and Control Center
Use the Home Screen widget to see your selected server and connection status and control your VPN. On iOS 18 and later, add Spectre VPN to Control Center for quick connection controls.
